Day one: DEPARTURE

Depart the U.S.A. Overnight: Flight

 

Day Two: ARRIVAL IN CASABLANCA

Arrive at Casablanca International Airport.
Welcome by your local guide and assistance with arrival formalities.

Begin with a panoramic drive through the city of Casablanca to view the Royal Palace, the Central Market, Anfa, the residential area and the beach front with its world famous shops, restaurants and night clubs.

Here resides the largest Jewish community in the Arab world.

A 60mile drive brings you to Rabat, (the capital of Morocco). Excavations of the Roman settlements of Sala Colonia have produced evidence of a Jewish community. in the el Bhira, or Mellah section there is evidence of a Jewish community dating back to 1492. your journey continues to Sale, the twin sister of Rabat and the birthplace of Rabbi Hayim Ben Moses Attar, a great 18th century scholar and cabbalist.

Day Three: RABAT TO OUAZZANE, FEZ

Breakfast at the hotel.

Another 18th century landmark of Jewish history awaits you today in Azjèn where is found the tomb of Rabbi Amram ben Diwan who lived in Ouazzane, his tomb was known around the world as a pilgrimage destinations. you will also have a chance to visit the synagogues and shrines before continuing to Fez. Fez' Jewish history dates back to the middle ages when it was known as the center of Jewish learning.

Day Four: FEZ/MEKNES/VOLUBILIS/FEZ

Breakfast at the hotel.

Volubis is the archeological site of Roman ruins and where a community of 15000 Jewish resided in 1950.

you can sense the Jewish history here, visit the Mellah and see the many streets labled with Jewish names. visit the tomb of Rabbi David Benmidan, who was the "Patron of Meknes" another pilgrimage shrine. in the new Mellah there are 11 synagogues of which eight are still in use today.

your return to Fez will bring you to the Medina where Rabbi Isaac al Fasi, a great Talmud scholar, lived in the 12th century. return to your hotel this evening for a special Sabbath dinner.

 

Day Five: FEZ

Breakfast at the hotel.

After breakfast you may attend services at one of the local synagogues.

Free day to explore on your own - shop, enjoy one of the many spas or hamams in the city, or just relax.

enjoy a leisure dinner and show with entertainment. 

 

Day Six: FEZ TO MARRAKESH

Breakfast at the hotel.

Early departure this morning to the Middle Atlas Region of Imouzer, through Berber village to the delightful ski resort of Ifrane. continue to Azrou, a local Berber village known for its handicrafts and carpet weaving.

Lunch on own, en route.

Travel on to Marrakesh.

Day seven: MARRAKESH

Breakfast at the hotel.

Visit the famous Majorelle Garden, created by the orientalist painter Jacques Majorelle.

Take part in a Moroccan home-cooking workshop.

Lunch on own, en route.

Explore Marrakech's enormous marketplace and experience the Djemaa El Fna Square, one of the most colorful and mysterious sites in all of Africa, with its snake-charmers, street vendors, musicians, jugglers, fortune-tellers and storytellers.

Return to the hotel.

Dinner on own and evening at leisure.

Overnight: Marrakech

 

DAY EIGHT: THE OURIKA VALLEY

Breakfast at the hotel.

Depart Marrakech for a half-day tour to the Ourika Valley.

Drive through the beautiful, lush, green valley and visit a Berber village.

Lunch on own, en route.

Ride a camel for a trip into the past when they were the main mode of transportation in the region.

Return to Marrakech with free time for last-minute shopping, packing or relaxation.

Dinner on own and evening at leisure.

Overnight: Marrakech


DAY NINE: MARRAKESH TO ESSAOUIRA, CASABLANCA

Breakfast at the hotel.

Depart this morning for Essaouira, a picturesque fighting port of an 800 year old city which shows traces of Iberian influence in its forts and towers.

Continue back to Casablanca to your hotel for overnight.

DAY TEN: RETURN TO THE USA

Breakfast at the hotel.

Check out of the hotel and transfer to the Casablanca International Airport.

Departure flight to the U.S.A., arriving the same day.
